Getting ready for Yale Art Market

Today was "prints" day. I didn't have much so I took pictures of my new work got images of my old ones and I went to my favorite print place.
They are so nice there! I also had an encouraging moment while I was waiting for my prints to come out of the machine.
A very sweet man behind me asked me where I got the images I was printing and I told him I painted them. He browsed through the prints (60 of them) and ask me if he could buy a couple of them. I said yes and I gave him the still hot from the machine prints.
I love to see people reacting to my work. This happened to me before but with commissions, I should go to the print store more often.

I have 17 paintings for the Art market and I keep painting and painting (but I always think is not enough)
This is one of them. Another Frida, 11"x14" acrylic on canvas with antiquing.

This is my rendition of "Antea" by Parmigianino, painted between 1531 and 1534

My version is 11"x14" Acrylic and I added a crackle effect. My husband finished the display panels and I will take some pictures later to show you.
I want to apply for the "Bayou City Art Festival" and I have to give them a booth shot so I have to work on that.
I hope you like my new paintings.

Tomorrow is print day here. One woman ordered 32 prints! plus I have a few regular orders to fill. Maybe it will rain and I won't feel so bad about staying inside and printing. :)

Good luck at the Market, Adri. The new paintings are beautiful!

OMG Adri, they're fantastic!! My personal fav is mi Frida. I fell in love with her work in 1970, long before Madonna discovered her, when I saw some of her paintings and tried to find anything written about her.

In 1976 I went to Mexico City for my honeymoon and saw Diego's murals; my favorite was the hotel we were staying at and he had made his famous mural with La Catrina in the centre and every afternoon while my husband napped, I went downstairs, ordered a drink and just sat there looking at that mural and kept finding more and more people I recognized. What an experience, unfortunately, I think that mural was destroyed in the '85 earthquake...not sure, but that's what I heard.

Abrazos,
Georgina
