Rejected

After spending a week in Orlando enjoying Disney and Seaworld we decided to have a couple of quiet days on the beach.
We came down to Manasota key, a beautiful community. I can see the beach through my window. It is so beautiful...
Today is our last day here and tomorrow we are going home.
In one of my trips to the house (searching for sun screen) I couldn't help but check my email on my Ipod.
There I saw an email from "Bayou City Art Festival" titled "Jury Results"
I got really excited because I was encouraged by so many people to apply to the festival that I though I was going to be accepted, but I was rejected.
I am pretty bummed out.
I didn't think I was going to be sad if I was rejected because there are so many good things going on with my art here but I am.
Now I am going to get some rest and get ready for 17 hours of driving back home. Good night my friends.

Oh....don't ever be discouraged. Your art is absolutely exquisite! Some of the greatest artists in history were rejected for most of their lives & were never truly appreciated until they died. At least, through this medium (the www), we all have each other's suppport and I can honestly tell you from the bottom of my heart your art is awesome and has inspired me for some time & poo poo to you Bayou City Art Festival and your Jury Results! ; )

Oooh I am so sorry, art is so subjective and obviously that jury has NO idea what they are missing!! chin up girl , remember you are great!

I feel sorry for the people who attend that festival. Your art is so completely different then the art I see being sold at our local festivals. That "jury" is depriving their attendees with the chance to see and buy some very cool artwork. I hope you have a safe trip home!

Try not to be upset...it's one of those things we all encounter along the way! I always think things happen for a reason even if we don't understand why. Keep your chin up! Your art is delightful and you have lots of admirers :).

That's just ONE show - you have so much talent and you will find TONZZZ of followers and "Juries" that will love your work as we do - I know you feel bummed and that's expected, but don't linger too long there - you've got work to do! :-)

That show probably wasn't right for you anyway (not with their sucky attitude - or perhaps the other artists were more similar to each other?)

There are TONS of new opportunities for you, just move on as quickly as you can. Talk to someone new about your art TODAY!

Their loss for sure! I went to an art festival yesterday and some things were beautiful, blew me away. Some made my head tilt a little :) Do NOT worry, your painting is beautiful and you have great success and they will be contacting you to give THEM a chance someday!
