Art Fair and lots of work done

Guessing why I was away for such a long time? well, my husband was studying, he wants to become a doctor and I want to help him to fulfill his dream. That means I took care of my 4 kids and helped him to get his studying done. He also had a full time job.

This changed, he lost his job and now he is working at home and he finished some of his classes so he has time to help me out soooooo I can work!

I'm excited. I made many pieces that I will be showing you and also I was able to participate in an arts market called "White Linen Night" that became HUGE here in Houston.
This is my booth preparation. I used to have some pegboards walls but they were very unstable for me.
I made this walls with $20 screen doors and galvanized wire mesh.

I made some jewelry and I use some old wooden boxes I found on garage sales and a silverware tray.

This is my booth. I put it together outside my house to make sure nothing bad happen. Some people stopped by and bought some art from me. That gave me encouragement and a sign that I will do good at the fair.

White Linen Night and another Frida

White Linen Night was great! I met great people, I had good sales and fun. We had A LOT of people coming to this event. It was very hard to find a place to park even though they have shuttles to drive people around.
There are others places that I was invited to show my work but I don't have enough paintings. Painting now would be only for some gifts I have to give and I think it is going to take the rest of the month to finish them.
Some members of my family are fans of my art too so they want me to paint for them when I ask what they want for a birthday present and even though they tell me to take my time there are in the back of my mind and I don't like to think I have a bunch of paintings to make.
This is one of the Fridas I painted for "White Linen Night" she is sold already. It is a 6"x12" acrylic on canvas with craquelure.

Today I have to take the paintings I have left to a store here in Houston. I will take some pictures and share the address when I deliver them.

Another Frida and a video

I have been painting for my next art event "White Linen Night" I am very excited about it but also a little nervous. I wanted to paint more but I was having a little artist block. When that happens I paint Frida, she always brings inspiration. I painted 3 Fridas all in different styles. This one is a 6"x12" acrylic on stretched canvas and finished with craquelure. The "Arte Caliente" show was great. It was FULL of people! you couldn't even walk through it. I met many great Hispanic artist. At the end the gallery wasn't that full so I could make a video
